The Woolmark Company is an international organization based in Australia that supports the global use of wool products. It works to benefit both producers and consumers by setting standards and enhancing product traceability. The Woolmark Company is a vital partner for I.S.T.

I.S.T has been advancing research and development in composite materials. Building on this experience, we explored challenges in new fields and eventually found an opportunity to develop an innovative natural fiber.

We understand that, “the choice of raw materials is a key factor in development.” Wool, as a material, is considered ideal for the development of new natural fibers. The Woolmark Company’s initiatives have established standards for the environment, quality, and supply of the raw materials. Based on this, we began developing a new fiber using wool as the primary raw material.

By using our unique platinum processing technology, we successfully developed IST PLATINUMWOOL™. This material offers a smooth texture, beautiful luster, a cool touch, and enhanced resistance to pilling.

Thanks to this advanced technology, we can ensure a stable supply of sustainable and high-quality fibers. It adds extra value to wool, making it versatile and suitable for all seasons.

We had the opportunity to showcase our newly developed IST PLATINUMWOOL directly to The Woolmark Company in Italy. This in thanks to our advisor, Riccardo Rami. It was our first encounter with The Woolmark Company, which has since become an invaluable and irreplaceable partner for us.
